Pearl River, NY – USA based Magnum Research has taken top honors for Best Hunting Handgun of 2013 from Field & Stream‘s annual Best of the Best Award.
The honor was given to the Titanium Gold Tiger Stripe Desert Eagle Mark XIX .50 Action Express (AE). The Desert Eagle is an iconic pistol with over a 29 year history. The .50 AE rotating three-lug bolt gas-operated semi-automatic action has the knock-down power needed for hunting big game. The barrel, frame and slide are made from high quality carbon steel and come with a full Weaver type rail for easy installation of scope rings and optical devices. Barrel lengths are offered in either a 6”, 6” with muzzle brake or a 10” (black only) without muzzle brake. They measure 10.75”, 11.95” or 14.75” in overall length. The tiger stripe pattern on the DE50TG-TS was modeled from an authentic Bengal tiger skin. The finish is a titanium nitrite vapor deposition coating – not plating, giving it a very hard surface.
Each year, Field & Stream reviews hundreds of new products and only the top performing items are granted the designation of Best of the Best. “Our staff spent the better part of the past year finding and testing the gear that will make readers’ time in the woods more productive and more fun,” says Slaton White, Deputy Editor of Field & Stream. “The winning products not only withstood our tough testing, but they stood head and shoulders above the rest displaying absolute excellence in their field.”
“We are honored to be selected in this category by Field & Stream,” says Frank Harris, VP of Marketing, Kahr Firearms Group. “A great deal of R&D by the Magnum Research factory team went into the development of this handgun to ensure that it not only maintained the standards we put into all our Desert Eagles, but also that it would aesthetically appeal to the hunter who wanted a little more elegance among his gun collection.”
The Titanium Gold Tiger Stripe Desert Eagle Mark XIX .50 AE retails for $2,264.
