Pomona, NY – USA based, Magnum Research, Inc. (MRI) has upgraded their Magnum Lite® .22LR and .22WMR semi-auto rifles with a new Barracuda American Black Walnut gun stock. The new stock replaces the heavier laminate stocks which included: Barracuda Pepper, Nutmeg and Forest Camo.
The Magnum Lite MLR22BW and MLR22WMBW with the black walnut stock includes: a lightweight thumbhole design, a comb height designed for comfort and a height that easily accommodates optics. It also features a semi-palm swell of both sides of the pistol grip and a molded-to-fit rubber butt plate. The polished walnut stock gives the .22 rifle a sleek, impressive new look. Both rifles are 100% made in the USA.
The new rifles will be equipped with the Magnum Lite® revolutionary patented graphite bull barrel, exclusive to Magnum Research. The patented uni-directional graphite fibers, parallel to the bore axis, result in a barrel with 6x the stiffness of the equivalent weight of steel. The lighter barrel weight (from 13-16 oz. depending on barrel length) is easier to handle and will dissipate heat up to 43% faster than steel. The result is extremely accurate rimfire performance in both .22LR and .22WMR.
Additional features of the MLR22 include: .22LR and .22WMR Bentz target chamber designed specifically for semi-automatics, full floating barrel for maximum accuracy, CNC-machined receiver from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum forging with an integral Weaver-type rail for optics, and a black anodized finish. The MLR22BW weighs only 69.3 ounces, has a barrel length of 17 inches, and an overall length of 35.5 inches. The MLR22WMBW weighs 71.2 ounces, has a barrel length of 19 inches, and an overall length of 37.5 inches.
This rifle utilizes the Ruger® 10/22® trigger group and 10/22® rotary magazines. MRI bolts are manufactured and machined from heat-treated and thoroughly hardened 4140 steel with minimum headspace for better accuracy.
